Technology with Cognitive and Mathematical Fidelity:
What it means for the Math Classroom

Author Beth Bos works at Texas State University San Marcos in San Marcos, Texas.  She has showed six different formats that are commonly used by educators to teach mathematics.  This article showed how we, as individuals, don’t always notice that technology is used every day.  No one would think that technology would be used in a math classroom, but they are wrong!  The calculators we use are a small form of technology students and teachers may use in math.  This article written by Beth Bos is a great tool for educators to use to try different teaching techniques for math lessons.  There are multiple students who struggle at mathematics, but using Bos’ six different formats presented can give students a better understanding of how great math really is!
